Here is a submission for the blog Rookiepainter. The lemon in the reference photo was so brightly colored that it really prompted me to paint it instantly.But,very clearly i couldn't manage to get that bright yellow. But the background gives it a feeling of a dark room with a single source of light so somehow i got convinced with the color of the lemon not being that bright.What do you have to say?
I noticed this painting amongst all the others over at Rookie because of the difference in color. The yellow is so subtle it makes it a very interesting painting. I understand, now that I read your idea of the light source in a dark room and I think it's terrific. Of course the yellow would be subdued! Great work!
