Sparkle

At the start of this painting,I thought this was going to be one quick piece of work. But,can my prediction ever be right? No! It took me two long days to come up with a finished piece. It could be because I worked with very thin layers of paint this time. But I still feel,I need to improve on my timing.

  1. Yasha, no matter the time, this is so lovely! Love the water droplets on your flower, and the deep color of the background.

  2. It was definitely time worth spent on something this amazing! I love how each petal is defined and the water droplets each have light shining from within.

  3. This is lovely Yasha! The water droplets are very well done. My flowers look like this every morning, and they do seem to sparkle! Love the title. I agree with Maria, the time doesn't matter ~ paint 'til you're pleased!

  6. Yasha, I can almost feel the velvet of the petals and the wetness of the water drops. If taking a long time to get a painting like this, take a long time. It is absolutely beautiful.

  7. This piece is beautiful & worth every ounce of effort!! Do not put a "clock" on your work, it can affect your style & outcome. (If you're trying to make show deadlines, that's a different thing & unfortunately, necessary). I burnt myself out trying to achieve what I wanted in a specific time frame. I became more interested in the time it took than what I wanted to create. Your work is beautiful, don't lose sight of the art! After all, it's what we are trying to express that drives us to paint in the first place. Oh sorry, hope I don't sound like I'm preaching - it's the voice of experience tho. Been there, done that - it was a painful lesson for me! ;)

  19. Hi Yasha, a little late in viewing your work as I just returned from a road trip. I love both your flower paintings. Be yourself when you paint - don't let the critics standing over your shoulder or bouncing around in your head determine the way you should paint. Relax and enjoy the journey, you are extremely talented and produce beautiful work.
