Learning to Dance in the Rain

Long time!!! Not that I have not been painting all this while, just that have not been posting regularly on my blog. Have also been a little busy with my office work lately, so weekends were more of relaxed days.

This painting was my entry to a painting contest conducted in my office, on the occasion of Women's day celebration. This painting of mine depicts the quote 'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, but about learning to dance in the rain'. The good news is I won!!! I was not planning to put in a lot of time into it, so opted for soft pastels on paper. I like doing figurative work in pastels, as I can avoid unnecessary detailing while working with this medium. I am a little tight when working with acrylics and for me acrylics take ever and ever.

I also have finished one in acrylics and will soon post it over here.. There is also a new hobby that I took up..BAKING..and I am loving it.. Will make sure to post some pictures of the cakes that I bake these days...Until then have a great week ahead..

Effortless Grace

"In life as in dance: Grace glides on blistered feet"-Alice Abrams

                                  (Acrylic on canvas 12x11 inches)

Don't remember whether I have ever shared it on my blog that besides my passion for colors and brushes,I am also passionate about dance and music. I have been performing on stage since my childhood and I still continue doing it,as and when I get an opportunity.I am not a trained dancer but this in no way affects my passion towards this art form.Never bothered about being good at it or bad at it,I just dance and dance like no one is watching.:-)
