Intense Gaze
I have been working on an acrylic painting since two days, but somewhere in the process I got stuck.Things did not work as planned and so,I thought, better leave it for a while and try something else for a change.Thought of picking up a pencil after a long gap.It was absolutely refreshing doing this graphite sketch and now I feel,I can get back to my acrylic work, and hope things work out well this time.
Meanwhile,I read an article "give-yourself-permission-to-fail" by Lori Woodward. This article worked for me as it came at a right time.:)

Pencil Sketch of a Friend
I hope each one of you had a lovely Christmas celebration with family and friends.I really get into festive mood this time of the year.Couldn't concentrate much on painting this week so thought of sharing this pencil portrait of a friend which was done a few weeks ago..He had been requesting me for a while to sketch it for him but I kept procrastinating. So,finally thought would sketch it for him.I am so happy with the sketch, as got it very close in terms of resemblance.
P.S.-I am also working on my second oil painting(with patience :-D).

Innocence
This is a pencil portrait of my nephew Raghav. He is grown up and a school going kid now,but I chose a photo from his early childhood days for this sketch.Unfortunately,I never got a chance to meet him but all thanks to the social networking sites,I have only seen him grow in his pictures which his Mom posts on Facebook.I am not sure about the percentage of resemblance but loved sketching him.Had to work hard to get his cute little pout right :-)
