I kind of always envy people who with some loose and minimum brush strokes of watercolor come up with great results, and that is actually the beauty of watercolor, avoiding unnecessary detailing. Many a times, I tried to do so but always ended up with patches of color here and there. My other weak point is painting in green or I should say foliage.I consider myself "Foliage Phobic".I am never happy with the way I paint leaves, trees or grass .Not only with watercolor but any medium i use and so avoid it as far as possible.May be practicing would help.
This piece being my submission for The Virtual Paintout was purposely done in watercolors with lots of trees and greenery(wanted to get rid of my phobia). At one point while painting this, I completely gave up.It looked awe full but then thought of at least completing it.The result is not as bad as it looked at one point but still  screwed up the shadows.Definitely need more and more practice.

  1. I know what you mean about painting foliage but-I have to say-you've created a bright pool of light back there in the park...not an easy thing to do. Nice.

  3. You're really a good artist. The pattern of using color is very nice. Painting sunshine and shadow is really amazing.
