Engrossed

This work goes as a submission to the blog Calypso Moon Artist Movement. The recent  challenge on the blog is to paint history.Artists are asked to paint a moment they witnessed, that involve people. When I read about the challenge I knew I had to paint this particular photo. This photo was taken by me in Mehrangarh fort,Jodhpur.Rajasthani folk songs are sung at a high pitch and so,the voice of this young boy echoed all over in the fort. After a while we located him and saw tourists gathered all around him listening to his songs. My Mom requested him to sing a very famous Holi song and he was too happy to sing it for us.She also suggested him to try his luck in some talent hunt contests,to which he just smiled shyly.

  2. What a profound moment for you and your son. It's strange how music and reach down into our souls, change us, thrill us, enlighten us, turn us into mush. Although the details are no left abstract, one can still see the contentment in the singers face. Well done!
