On The Foothills
Laid my hands on watercolors after a very long time. This medium definitely needs a lot of practice.I did feel a lot rusty as the strokes wouldn't come out smooth. But, the fact is I love using watercolors. If the result is good,it boosts up your confidence and if not, it can be a good learning experience. That is optimistic me.:)

Step Up
I absolutely love the luminosity of the watercolors but at the same time its such an unpredictable medium. At times, its happy surprises and at times, disastrous results and I have experienced both. One wrong brush stroke and you ruin a painting.I almost ruined this one but fortunately,it turned out well for me.:)

An Off Day
Boats make such an amazing subject for painting and I so wanted to paint them.Unfortunately, these days I do not get much time to paint. Even a few days break from painting made me feel all rusty. The hot temperatures here made this watercolor piece even more difficult for me.The paper dried up so quick and I couldn't manage to get the desired result.I also ruined the paper at some places.:( I wish and hope to learn the art of time management too so that I get to paint more frequently.:)

Open Up
Worked with watercolors after a fairly long time and so thought of painting this small piece, but like always, I loved using them. After finishing this piece I realized that this new year I worked on three paintings and all three of them with different medium.Well,it wasn't intentional but I was happy to do so.Would like to continue that way, as working with a medium after a very long time makes me feel completely new to it.
For this painting I tried using minimum colors and thats three primary colors and a touch of burnt sienna .I am not very satisfied with the way the way I handled the bud.I tried keeping the blurred look but then overdid it.

Engrossed
This work goes as a submission to the blog Calypso Moon Artist Movement. The recent challenge on the blog is to paint history.Artists are asked to paint a moment they witnessed, that involve people. When I read about the challenge I knew I had to paint this particular photo. This photo was taken by me in Mehrangarh fort,Jodhpur.Rajasthani folk songs are sung at a high pitch and so,the voice of this young boy echoed all over in the fort. After a while we located him and saw tourists gathered all around him listening to his songs. My Mom requested him to sing a very famous Holi song and he was too happy to sing it for us.She also suggested him to try his luck in some talent hunt contests,to which he just smiled shyly.
