Worked with watercolors after a fairly long time and so thought of painting this small piece, but like always, I loved using them.After finishing this piece I realized that this new year I worked on three paintings and all three of them with different medium.Well,it wasn't intentional but I was happy to do so.Would like to continue that way, as working with a medium after a very long time makes me feel completely new to it.
For this painting I tried using minimum colors and thats three primary colors and a touch of burnt sienna .I am not very satisfied with the way the way I handled the bud.I tried keeping the blurred look but then overdid it.
This is so beautiful, simple and great colors, the bud fades into the background and I feel focused on the great colors and lighting of the open flower.

ReplyDeleteHi Yasha,there is great definition on the petals,which is always the hardest part.The colours are fantastic and the background just right.I don't think you have to worry about the bud,it looks fantastic too.

Just beautiful and the way you handle watercolors is wonderful! I havt not tried that medium in years since I am stuck on oils and acrylics right now. This purple color is just eye catching!

ReplyDeleteThe colors in this are beautiful. Try painting it again if you're not completely satisfied with that bud. I've learned to not limit myself to painting something once. If a painting doesn't quite work for me I chalk it up to practice and try again. You'll only get better.

Very nice. I am impressed with the blurred background and the tiny hairs along the stem of the flower. Your work is very pleasant to the eye. The bud is just a bit hidden by the similar color of the background, but other than that it is good.
