On The Foothills

Laid my hands on watercolors after a very long time. This medium definitely needs a lot of practice.I did feel a lot rusty as the strokes wouldn't come out smooth. But, the fact is I love using watercolors. If the result is good,it boosts up your confidence and if not, it can be a good learning experience. That is optimistic me.:)

Down The Muddy Lane

While painting this piece I was reminded of the hot sunny days ahead.People have been waiting for spring   desperately in some parts of the world but here in my state,in India, winter is very short lived. Before you actually feel it,its gone. This year though,it lasted a little longer than usual.Woolens finally had their turn to see the outside world. But now again, one can feel the rising temperature, the harsh sun and hot and humid weather will be soon here again.:(

Ceaseless Flow-SOLD

Last ten days or so had been extremely busy for me.Never found enough time to paint.I am glad this weekend I managed to paint something. This is a quick watercolor work which is done from a photograph that I clicked a few years back when I visited Simlipal National Forest with my family.Have some great memories of the trip. Not very satisfied  with the way this piece turned out but I was simply happy to paint something. This piece also goes as my first entry to the blog In The Moment Challenge where the topic for the challenge is "Tranquil".

My cousin is getting married on 20th of this month and so, I will be away from the painting zone for some more time but I am super excited for a family get together. Wishing all a very happy Valentine's Day.:)

On the streets of Ireland

Heres my second attempt at oil and my second submission for this month's challenge at Virtual Paintout.I was just about to miss the deadline but then managed it somehow.
Attempted this piece with a little more patience than the previous one as had so many details to work upon and this is what I hate about myself.I tend to capture too many details and I really want to overcome this habit of mine.Should I make this a new year resolution?:-p
Wishing every one a very Happy New Year 2011.Enjoy.

Rest For a While

This goes as a submission to Virtual paintout. The recent location chosen was County Clare,Ireland.Such a beautiful country it is(reminded me of the movie P.S.I love you). The greenery is mesmerizing, lovely cottages and I could spot so many locations that I wanted to paint. But this tractor won the race this time. But definitely I would love to paint some other locations too for this month's submission, as an artist is allowed maximum of three submissions.
