Submitted this piece to the Rookiepainter blog. The reference photo provided was a different one but we had the liberty to change the composition or color according to our preference. So,this was my version.
I had been painting watercolor landscapes but I also wanted to try my hands on some still life in watercolors.I love the work of artists doing still life in this medium and thats what inspired me to give it a try. This being my first attempt,I am happy with how it turned out.I wish I could paint the fabric a little differently.Well,I hope to improve myself in my further attempts.:)
Happy weekend everyone.:)
Yasha, you've done a wonderful job on the fabric, don't worry about that, you will improve. It's much better than what I've ever done, too. I love to watch videos of watercolor artist to see their progression on a piece but unfortunately my computer is now too slow to do so. Have you watched videos of people like Tracey Hall? She is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWell, once again you amaze me, Yasha. Your first attempt is wonderful, even with the little flaws you perceive. I think you were Rembrandt or some great artist in another life. : )
ReplyDeleteI love the dramatic light and shadows which give the painting such drama and makes it so interesting to look at.The fabric is great,I can't see any fault.I agree with Jean..your work is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe first attempt if mind blowing.. the fabric so soft and silky, the shadows play a lot on the viewer's mind.. great job Yasha!
ReplyDeleteHere, an earnest request. I wish to eat them :D
ReplyDeleteNice work Yasha. :)
