Hi everyone! I am glad to be posting again this weekend. One painting a month is what I manage these days.I really regret this but this is the best I can do,I guess.I have to admit that I do get little lazy at times, or should I say too lazy (as suggested by delayed posts on my blog).Sometimes, you do have other priorities and at times you don't feel like painting. The start up process is the most difficult task for me in a painting.Deciding what to paint, which medium to use, what support to use, usually takes away my half time and then eventually, I end up doing nothing.:) But once I start working on a painting,it all goes with the flow and I lose track of time.
Lately,I have been working a lot with pastels. They are easy to work with and fun too.For this recent work of mine,I used a brown tinted paper. It was just an experiment and I kind of got the desired result. So,when your trials are successful, you have all reasons to be happy for.:)
Happy weekend and a Very Happy Friendships Day to all my dear friends!!
I love how the light from the window touches all the different textures.I love the mood of this piece!! Well done Yasha, its well worth waiting for!It reminds how I used love reading a good novel.
ReplyDeleteSo very beautiful. Your pastel work is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful, Yasha! Reading is one of my favorite activities, so this painting really speaks to me. I love the colors and peaceful atmosphere. :o)
ReplyDeleteHi Yasha, the luxury of just sitting to read a book--nice reminder to take time to do that! Lovely
ReplyDeletebeautiful, soothing piece !
ReplyDeleteA beautiful composition, Yasha, and well done. I have experienced the same in my painting ventures. It will eventually get better with time for healing and persistance. Don't be too hard on yourself. Good to see a post from you, and thanks for your kind comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely painting, Yasha! I loved the scene. I always believe a successful painting is one which is not only well painted, but evokes wonderful feelings in the viewer. This is one such. All the elements are well painted- especilly the vase with that little dent and the frosty windows are really good.:)
ReplyDeleteYasha, it does not matter how long it takes, given that it is completed, and completed to your hearts content :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful painting yet again!
Cheers,
Blasphemous Aesthete
