The Curved Bridge

The reference photo for this painting was posted on A Day Not Wasted by Lee and it was clicked while he was on a trip to Venice.Strangely, naming this piece was one difficult task for me and the reason being that, when I look at the painting I see so many elements that are important part of it,be it the bridge, the two lonely boats, the colorful buildings, the canal, the almost ruined building to the right and the turquoise colored water. But then very obviously the bridge catches your sight at once and so goes the name"The curved bridge".I have never painted  water in watercolors so it was quiet a challenge getting the reflections right.

  2. The eye mainly goes towards the water and it is gorgeous! I like the way you used yellow in between buildings.. makes a lovely contrast!

  3. Nice painting Yasha, and you made the railing work nicely over the bridge. Love your colors, especially how the water turned out - such a beautiful rich blue green.
