Walking Down The Street

I set a new personal record with this painting and a kind of record that I wouldn't want to break ever.I lost count on the number of times I clicked it and a number of times I edited it.Each time I gave a touch up,I thought, now this is the final one and would click, analyze, then realize that some elements still needed modifications. This cycle went on and on and on till I  really got frustrated and impatient and as this was a submission to ADNW  challenge,I did submit it in the same condition.:( Got up this morning and patiently looked at it again and did the previous day cycle stop?NO.I didn't like the light and shadows on the street which looked more like a zebra crossing,so painted it allover again. Phew..
On the positive side I loved painting the bark of the tree on the left and the beautiful lamps.Painting the lady was also a matter of concern because I don't consider myself good at painting figures so there were more chances of me ruining it.But this time, lucky me got it right. So,some positives and some negatives resulted in a neutralized feeling.:)

  2. Hi Yasha, Thanks for commenting on my blog. I thought I would check yours out and you too paint beautifully. Sometimes we over analyze our work and make ourselves crazy perfecting it, when all along others really like it the way it is. This is a lovely painting of the Walk down the street. I really like the figure and the light coming across the path.
    Sincerely,
    Linda

  5. Oh how we struggle with the details, don't we? I always grab the camera, take a picture, then see things to change, change them, then grab the camera, and so on. It's really such a cycle. But this painting is beautiful, just wonderful. I love the repeated lines of the railing, the stone work and the shadows. The bark came out wonderful, as did the lamps and the woman. Very good work Yasha, take a break from the cycle & pat yourself on the back!

  9. Hello Yasha, you've done a wonderful job with this painting. So much to deal with; the figure, the architectural design of the bridge and the perspective all work beautifully. I also browsed your older posts and must say I am quite impressed with your talent. Hope to see more of your wonderful painting.

  11. Sometimes the best thing that can happen to our paintings is to get thrown in the trash. Second chances are a wonderful thing, as is this painting. Very well done, and no zebra to be found!
